WHAT SHOULD I BRING

  • Good attitude, environmental awareness and eagerness to explore Colombia.
  • Under any circumstance you should travel without a camera (water casing) with enough batteries if needed, as well as a hermetic plastic bag to isolate it from humidity (include water-absorbing pills).
  • Make sure you have a valid passport with a minimum of 6 months before it expires.
  • Having an ID is expendable, but if the person is underage he or she must have a form of legal identification and the parents authorization (if only one of the parents is travelling with the minor or if the program calls for leaving the country). If the traveler is a foreigner living in Colombia, he or she needs the foreigner ID or passport (verify the passport’s validity), which is mandatory to have with you when exiting or entering Colombia.
  • Have the medical assistance card for travelling.
  • Our plans include the APRIL medical assistance card.
  • A small backpack to carry on tours.
  • A big backpack, easy to carry as luggage. Include only strictly necessary objects.
  • Make sure your pack comfortable clothes for walking, that allow you to move freely, that are light and cool (bring light-colored clothes and void black or dark clothing) such as t-shirts, long-sleeved tees, swimsuits and clothes that protect you from the sun and can get wet.
  • Shoes with good grip and that can get wet and are comfortable for walks and hikes on mountain, jungle, beach and mangrove.
  • Enough socks.
  • Raincoats, rubber boots, head flashlights or hand flashlights with batteries.
  • Flask or thermos for carrying liquids (In some places, water isn’t safe for direct consumption, therefore it is recommended to buy pure water and serve it in one’s own thermos to also avoid contaminating with plastic bottles). In some places, water or disposable bottles are forbidden.
  • Bring solar protection (30/50FPS).
  • Caps and hats are a good idea to protect yourself from the sun.
  • You’ll be in the jungle and on the beach. You’ll need insect repellent and personal hygiene products.
  • Sunglasses with UV filter.
  • We take care of nature! Do not bring any polluting elements, and if you do, bring them back with you.
  • International valid certificate of yellow fever vaccination, (must be applied at least 10 days before travelling) and against tetanus (mandatory for any program).
  • Extra money for services not included on the plan (In the majority of destinations there is only one ATM per main city, in some cases, hotels are far from town).
  • Respect the culture, tradition ad idiosyncrasies of natives and locals.
  • Support the local artisans and contribute to the local economy.
