The “Alto de San Miguel” Reserve is one of the most important protected areas of the Aburra Valley. The 1.358 hectares range from 1.850 m to 3.050 m in altitude and is one of the last retreats of endemic Andean flora and fauna. The evergreen mountains give birth to the Medellín River. Currently, the list of birds spotted includes 210 species of common, migratory and endemic ones. Walk along the Medellín River with your local birding guide on a trail. The “Alto de San Miguel” Reserve is home to several endemic species like the Colombian Chachalaca, the Coloured Partridge or Tapaculo de Style
